Goalkeeper Jimmy Hague became the first Spartan to earn Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year by only allowing nine goals in 16 games, with 10 of those games being shutouts. Hague also finished second in the Big Ten in save percentage with a .833 save percentage.

Ahrens sustained his first injury later on in the summer and was out four to five weeks before being able to slowly get back on the court. During media day on Oct. 11, Ahrens said he was only a couple of weeks from being completely cleared.
