After a huge win this past Sunday over Michigan, the Spartans looked to keep the momentum against Nebraska. The Spartans fell short and with only two games left heading into the Big Ten Tournament, there seems to be a lack of urgency and effort heading into the final stretch of the season.

On Valentine’s Day MSU looked to gain another quality win as the season closes as they hosted Nebraska in a neck and neck type of game. However, the Spartans fell short, 79-69.

Three baseball players named to Preseason Big Ten Honors list
Three MSU Spartans were voted by the Big Ten baseball coaches to the preseason Preseason Honors list: sophomore outfielder Bryce Kelley, senior right-handed pitcher Jake Lowery and junior right-handed pitcher Riley McCauley.

Three days after passing what was likely their biggest test of the season thus far, and beating No. 6 Purdue at the Breslin Center, the second-ranked men’s basketball team went on the road and took care of business against Minnesota (14-14, 3-12 Big Ten).

Saturday’s game was important for MSU for another reason that had nothing to do with the team’s title hopes or postseason aspirations. It was important because it was a night to honor legendary coach Jud Heathcote, who passed away last August at the age of 90.
