Former Spartan Morten Andersen becomes second kicker elected to Pro Football Hall of Fame

After a five-year wait, former MSU kicker Morten Andersen will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.  Andersen is the second kicker to ever earn a spot in Canton and will join LaDanian Tomlinson, Terrell Davis, Kurt Warner, Kenny Easley and current Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones as the Class of 2017.  Originally from Copenhagen, Denmark, Andersen came to MSU from Ben Davis high school in Indianapolis and played with the Spartans in 44 games from 1978-81 and named a First-team All-American in 1981.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — After a 70-62 win over U-M just nine days ago, MSU men's basketball (14-10 overall, 6-6) was blown-out by 29 points to U-M (15-9 overall, 6-6). The 86-57 game splits this year's two-game season series.

The MSU wrestling team (4-10, 1-7 Big Ten) hosted the No. 10 University of Michigan Wolverines (8-5, 4-5 Big Ten) Sunday afternoon at Jenison Field House. The team was coming off a 24-12 defeat by then-No. 10 Rutgers Scarlet Knights and looked to earn its second conference win on senior day.

Freshman forward Nick Ward was left out of the starting lineup for the first time in 10 games for the Spartans (14-9 overall, 6-4 Big Ten), but did play in limited minutes as the Spartans earned their first win on the road since Dec. 27 by defeating Nebraska (10-12 overall, 4-6 Big Ten) Thursday.
