Whenever people describe Ohio State fans it is generally negative, but the crowd at ESPN's College GameDay couldn't disagree more. "We live in Cleveland now so we came down for the game and we brought our two-year-old and it’s just been fun," 2002 social relations graduate Laura James said. "It’s really kind of a family atmosphere and just fun to see other State fans and cheer and yell go green and go white to each other.” James will always love her alma mater, but she has been pleased with the people of Columbus and the atmosphere. “Nothing compares to East Lansing, East Lansing will always be home," James said. "It’s a little tough with all the Buckeye fans around, but it’s a great atmosphere, a lot of happy faces and everyone’s been really nice.”

The MSU-OSU football game at 3:30 p.m. EST in Columbus, Ohio will surely set the playoff path for the victor, but the Spartans and Buckeyes are rising above this rivalry to support a University of Michigan family. Five-year-old Chad Carr, grandson of former Wolverines' head coach Lloyd Carr and Hall of Fame safety Tom Curtis, will be recognized by the two teams with a helmet decal.
Much like last season, one thing stands in between MSU and their goals—Ohio State. Had the Spartans won that game, it could have been MSU earning a berth in the inaugural college football playoff. But ifs don't matter, because the Spartans lost, but here they are again with their dreams in front of them.
Coach Mark Dantonio said he had his team “focus on the moment” to defeat Maryland, 24-7, but he called the game ahead a “playoff situation” during his press conference on Saturday.

Junior quarterback Tyler O’Connor saw his first sufficient game of playing time in a 24-7 victory over Maryland. The Spartans first drive of the game on Saturday was an eight yard run by fifth-year senior quarterback Connor Cook. And although Cook did not appear to be injured on the play, his backup O’Connor was subbed in on the Spartans’ second drive of the game.
The traveling college football pre-game show, ESPN College Football GameDay, tweeted yesterday it will be in Columbus, Ohio on Nov. 21 for the Big Ten matchup between OSU and MSU.
No. 13-rankled MSU (9-1 overall, 5-1 Big Ten) bounced back from last week's loss with a 24-7 win over Maryland (2-8 overall, 0-6 Big Ten) Saturday at Spartan Stadium.
