Bridges’ block drained the clock to 1.6 seconds giving FGCU ample but short time for a buzzer-beating shot on an executed inbounds pass.

After falling below .500 in 2015, missing the NCAA Tournament and bowing out in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament, the Spartans responded with an upstart season, climbing the national rankings all the way to No. 12 in the NSCAA coaches poll.
