He was never happier than when he played football for MSU, that's what Raymond Spencer said of his father Raymond Muhammad Spencer, who played football at MSU from 1972-76. Raymond Muhammad Spencer starred as an offensive lineman for MSU during his time, and became the first ever freshman to start on the MSU varsity football team.

The MSU softball team was defeated by No. 2 University of Michigan on Wednesday, 3-0. A pitcher’s duel was broken up by a fifth-inning U-M rally. The stands of Secchia Stadium at Old College Field were filled to capacity for Wednesday afternoon’s in-state rivalry game.

Spartans win 14-inning affair against CMU at Comerica Park, 7-3
Last year it was the Chippewas who came out of Detroit with the last laugh, but on Wednesday night the Spartans claimed victory in the sixth annual Clash at Comerica between MSU and CMU. MSU improved to 23-6 on the season while defeating the Chippewas by a final score of 7-3 after 14 innings of play.

Spartan bats come alive in 11-5 victory over Michigan
After MSU lost the nightcap of Sunday’s doubleheader against Penn State in surprising fashion, the Spartans got back into action on Tuesday afternoon against the University of Michigan. The two rivals scheduled a last-minute non-conference matchup to make up for games that were rained out. The Spartans ended up victorious in their first meeting of the season, by a final score of 11-5.
