Hawkeyes and Spartans alike reflect on competition at fan fest

Spartan fans came out to the Dr. Pepper Fan Fest today in masses to participate in the Big Ten Football Championship Game activities, which varied from a “Gridiron Grill” adult lounge to over 15 family-friendly events for kids. Young Spartan and Hawkeye fans were having a blast as events from Xbox 360 NCAA football matches to blow-up obstacles and even pickup basketball games were at their disposal.

MSU basketball dominates Binghamton, 76-33

On a day that could end with MSU’s football team winning a Big Ten championship and earning a birth in the College Football Playoff, the No. 3 MSU men’s basketball team took care of business, beating the Binghamton Bearcats in the first ever meeting between the two teams 76-33.

HALFTIME UPDATE: MSU basketball leads Binghamton, 41-12

At halftime, No. 3 MSU leads the Binghampton Bearcats 41-12 . MSU opened the game on a 9-0 run, and the lead would only grown from there. With a number one ranking on the line, MSU’s leaders made today business as usual, as Valentine finished the first half with 13 points and seven rebounds to lead all scorers.

Places to be in Indianapolis for the Big Ten championship

Numerous Spartan fans making the trek to Indianapolis for Saturday’s Big Ten championship, and the game pitting No. 4 Iowa and No. 5 Michigan state is bound to be great, with the winner being as close to a lock for the College Football Playoff as they could. As for the fans getting to Indianapolis on Friday or early Saturday, multiple events are taking place to enjoy the festivities before the game.
