WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

MSU women's basketball ranked third in Big Ten preseason coaches poll

With MSU women's basketball season right around the corner, the Big Ten conference released its preseason coaches and media polls, according to a press release. In the rankings, MSU is tied for third with Indiana University in the coaches poll. The Spartans are coming off a season in which they advanced to the Big Ten Championship Game and also the second round of the NCAA tournament.

FOOTBALL

In midst of tackling woes, MSU's Nicholson keeps hitting hard

A lack of tackling has been an issue for the MSU football team this year, and missed wrap ups have helped contributed to a woeful 109th in third-down defense and a highly uncharacteristic six sacks through six games. The past members of the “Spartan Dawg” defense have not had issues like this one, whether it be former linebackers like Max Bullough and Denicos Allen or secondary standouts like Trenton Robinson or Isaiah Lewis.

VOLLEYBALL

No. 11 MSU volleyball defeats Rutgers for the second time this season

It was Breast Cancer Awareness night at Jenison Field House and the MSU volleyball team showed their support by wearing pink. The No. 11-ranked Spartans sweeped Rutgers for the second time this season on Wednesday. Five out of MSU's six hitting errors were made in the third set. There is never a night off in Big Ten volleyball and MSU showed that they’re always ready to work.
