Senior guard Denzel Valentine is off to a great start this season, as he has recorded two triple-doubles and averages 17.9 points, 7.7 rebounds and 6.6 assists per game. In response, Valentine has been named to two prestigious award watch lists.

In lieu of the MSU men's basketball team being called for 28 fouls in a 77-76 loss to Wisconsin on Sunday, MSU head coach Tom Izzo admitted he hasn't done a good job adjusting to the new foul rules in college basketball.

Add sophomore guard Lourawls “Tum Tum” Nairn Jr. to the list of MSU players to miss at least one game this season. Nairn is out indefinitely with plantar fasciitis in his right foot.

The No. 4 MSU men’s basketball team lost for the second straight game this week, this time on the road against the Wisconsin Badgers, 77-76. MSU falls to 16-3 on the season while Wisconsin improves to 10-9. Wisconsin was led by junior guard Bronson Koenig, who finished with 27 points.

Izzo on MSU's loss to Iowa: "The tougher team won"
Eight seconds after MSU won the opening tip-off of Thursday night's game against the Iowa Hawkeyes, sophomore MSU point guard found senior MSU guard Denzel Valentine in the corner for a 3-point shot. Valentine drilled it and MSU was off to a 3-0 lead. From there, however, it was nearly all Iowa.
