PREVIEW: No. 13 MSU looks to upset No. 2 Kentucky in Champions Classic

MSU men's basketball take to Madison Square Garden in New York City for their next high profile battle against the No. 2 Kentucky Wildcats in the Champions Classic. The Spartans hold a record of 3-2 in the Champions Classic, however hold a 3-11 record in Madison Square Garden, 3-7 under Head Coach Tom Izzo. MSU last met Kentucky in the Champions Classic in 2013, when the Spartans finished victorious 78-74, former guard Keith Appling led with 22 points.

PREVIEW: No. 12 MSU opens regular season against No. 10 Arizona

It’s been a process eight months in the making. It started with a stunning upset loss to Middle Tennessee State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, which blemished not only the resume of Hall of Fame head coach Tom Izzo and his 2016 graduating class consisting of the likes of Denzel Valentine, Bryn Forbes, Matt Costello and Colby Wollenman.

HALFTIME: MSU basketball leads Northwood, 48-35

Following the first half of MSU men's basketball first action of the season, MSU lead the Northwood Timberwolves 48-35 in an exhibition performance. The Spartans showed signs of inexperience littered across the first period, not capturing the lead until the game was eight minutes through.
