MSU hockey falls short of comeback, drops game one of series to No. 11 Minnesota
MSU head coach Tom Anastos said during his weekly press conference Tuesday that he was anxious to see how his team would respond after wins over Ferris State and a win and a draw against North Dakota. He got his answer Friday night as the Spartans fell 3-2 to No. 11 Minnesota.

3 Spartans earn AVCA postseason honor
Following the upset loss to Arizona in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, the MSU volleyball team announced Tuesday juniors Alyssa Garvelink and Autumn Bailey have been selected to the American Volleyball Coaches Association, AVCA, All-North team, and senior Alyssa Fitterer was an honorable mention pick, according to a press release.

MSU hockey dealing with injuries, look to youth heading into Big Ten opener
The MSU hockey team is slated to face off against No. 11 University of Minnesota to begin Big Ten conference play this upcoming weekend. After posting a winning 3-2-1 record in November, the Spartans will be hampered by injuries in their effort to repeat their winning ways in December.

After opening the season with an overall record of 4-6-1, MSU’s hockey team commences Big Ten Conference play when they host No. 11 Minnesota (7-5-2) in a two-game series this Friday and Saturday.

Spartans defeat Quinnipiac on the road, improve to 8-2 overall
The MSU women’s basketball team went on the road Tuesday to play Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. With a commanding win over Quinnipiac, the Spartans bring their season record to 8-2 overall. It was an all-around effort from the Spartans as senior captain and guard Tori Jankoska led the team with a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds.

FINAL: MSU defeats Youngstown State in blowout fashion
After leading Youngstown State University (5-5 overall) men's basketball team 37-30 at the Breslin Center at halftime, MSU (6-4 overall) defended its lead to earn another victory. A collective effort, the Spartans defeated the Penguins out in blowout fashion, 77-57.
