Student arrested for alleged attack on boyfriend

An MSU student was arrested for allegedly attacking her boyfriend at about 1:30 a.m. on Jan. 7 in West Owen Hall, according to police. MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said the 19-year-old student became violent during a verbal altercation with her boyfriend, a 21-year-old student, when she accused him of infidelity.

About $4,800 stolen from dorm room

Money and electronics were stolen last week from a dorm room in East Holden Hall, according to police. Two roommates, both male students, reported to police that an unknown individual entered their room between 4 and 7 a.m.

An indecent exposure incident occurred between 10 and 11:30 p.m. Nov. 11 in Spartan Village, according to police. A 30-year-old female resident told police she was standing outside her apartment when she saw an unidentified male drive up in a silver sedan, MSU police Sgt.

Money stolen from student's lanyard

Money was stolen from a student’s lanyard between 3:55 and 9:50 p.m. Oct. 31 in Owen Hall, according to MSU police. The victim, an 18-year-old student employee, told police she placed her possessions in a storage area for employees before the start of her shift, MSU police Sgt.

Officials extinguish two fires following MSU basketball win over Kentucky

Two furniture fires were extinguished Tuesday night within minutes of one another, according to East Lansing police. East Lansing police Lt. Steve Gonzalez said the first was at the intersection of Beal and Elm streets at about 10:30 p.m. The second started on the 500 block of Grove Street. Both were extinguished quickly. Gonzalez could not confirm whether either pieces of furniture were couches. No arrests were made, and there are no suspects for either of the fires. Bystanders on Grove Street were given citations for their proximity to the fire.

MSU police looking into unarmed robbery

MSU police are investigating an unarmed robbery that occurred at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday near Holmes Hall. Early Sunday morning, officers responded to a call from a male student saying his cell phone was taken from him, according to an MSU police crime alert.

False alarm evacuates Union

An alleged fire that occurred at about 2:05 p.m. Tuesday in the Union turned out to be a false alarm, according to East Lansing Fire Department reports. East Lansing Fire Lt. Dawn Carson said an alarm went off in the building and the problem was resolved before authorities even got to the scene. When the alarm sounded, students were evacuated from the building.

Student assaulted after shouting at car

A student was assaulted at about 2:30 a.m. Oct. 13 near McDonel Hall, according to MSU police. A 19-year-old male told police he was walking between McDonel and Holmes Halls with his girlfriend when three males drove by in a car and began shouting at him, MSU police Sgt.

Moped stolen at University Village

A student’s moped was stolen between 3 and 5 p.m. on Oct. 14 in University Village, according to police. A 19-year-old male told police he parked his moped, a black and silver Tmec valued at $500, at a bicycle rack on the southwest corner of University Village, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.
