Two vehicles were involved in an accident last Wednesday afternoon at Spartan Village, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. A 29-year-old female MSU student backed her 1997 Honda Accord into a parked 2005 Freightliner van, which was being unloaded by a 29-year-old male from Lansing.
A 53-year-old female MSU employee reported multiple windows intentionally broken at Kresge Art Museum, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The windows were broken May 28-30, and damage is estimated at $500.
A 25-year-old female MSU employee reported structural damage to the southwest corner of Ramp 4’s top level at Kellogg Center last Monday, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The woman noticed a pillar knocked off its base and lying on its side atop the parking ramp.
A 40-year-old male from Wesley Chapel, Fla., reported his vehicle broken into early Sunday morning outside East McDonel Hall, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The man caught the subject, a 19-year-old male from Lansing, going through his wallet after breaking into the car.
A 16-year-old male from Kitty Hawk, N.C., who was on campus for the 2010 Odyssey of the Mind world finals reported several items missing from his backpack Saturday night on the second floor of the Union, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.
A 2004 Dodge Durango SUV was damaged after a hit-and-run accident last Wednesday on the second level of Ramp 2 next to Bessey Hall, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The owner of the vehicle reported a 6-inch dent on the rear passenger side door after returning to her parked car.
A 23-year-old female MSU student reported her wallet stolen May 24 from the Music Practice Building, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The student was practicing in the room and left for less than 10 minutes, and left the door to the room unlocked.
Two male MSU students, aged 20 and 21, reported their Nike shoes missing Sunday from a Breslin Center locker room, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The students left their shoes in unlocked lockers for the weekend last Thursday.
An 18-year-old female MSU student reported her cell phone missing Saturday in Snyder Hall, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The student left her dorm room to take out the trash, leaving the door halfway open, McGlothian-Taylor said. Upon returning, she discovered her phone missing from her desk.
A 36-year-old male MSU professor reported his digital clock missing from a windowsill Friday morning at the Engineering Building, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The man left his office last Wednesday and returned Friday morning to find the clock missing.
A 56-year-old MSU employee reported a trash can fire outside Anthony Hall on Wednesday, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The fire potentially could have been caused by a discarded cigarette.
A 45-year-old East Lansing man reported his bicycle stolen during the morning of May 12 outside the Natural Resources Building, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The man secured the bike’s frame to the rack outside the building.
A 31-year-old male MSU employee reported his wallet stolen in the basement of the Music Practice Building on Wednesday, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. While the employee practiced his instrument, he was asked to assist a person upstairs. McGlothian-Taylor said the practice room was left unlocked and unattended for five minutes.
An MSU employee reported damage to a vehicle on May 17 in Lot 91, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The passenger window was found shattered and a small rock was sitting in the seat. No items were stolen from the car.
A 19-year-old female MSU student reported her bicycle stolen May 7 at South Hubbard Hall, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The bike was a blue Schwinn valued at $200 and was registered with the MSU police.
A 19-year-old female MSU student reported her laptop stolen Monday after she left it unattended at the Main Library.
A 22-year-old male MSU student reported his belongings stolen after taking a break Monday in a lounge on the second floor of Owen Hall, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The man left his belongings on a table, locked the door and returned to find most of them stolen.
Two female MSU employees reported that a vending machine was broken during the weekend on the second floor of Student Services, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. It is unknown what, or if, anything was taken from the machine. Damage to the machine is estimated at $2,000.
Staff in the College of Education said a man attempted to steal a computer as a fire alarm sounded Saturday, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The suspect allegedly came into the building during the alarm and attempted to steal a computer from the College of Education office.
