At around 7 p.m., the Michigan State University Union was evacuated after steam discharge from the building's upper areas became excessive. MSU Deputy Spokesperson Dan Olsen said there was no fire, but rather an optical illusion caused by steam, leading many to believe that there was. Olsen said the issue has been resolved and the Union reopened.
At around 4 p.m. today, a fire was reported in the laundry room of West Wilson Hall, causing two fire trucks and cops to appear at the scene.
