How students, community members advocate for change through MLK Day march

Since the rise of the Civil Rights Movement in 1954, protest marches have long been a form of activism in fighting to end racial segregation and exclusion. It was at the historic March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, held in 1963, where Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered the exalted "I Have a Dream" speech. Communications senior and member of Alpha Phi Alpha Brandon Foster will be the coordinator for the 2024 MLK Commemorative March. For Foster, who was also coordinator last year, the march "means a lot to him" because it brings diversity, equity and inclusion within MSU.

'Healing at our pace': MSU students protest reopening of Berkey Hall

Students gathered outside the Hannah Administration Building on Monday to protest the reopening of Berkey Hall, one of the sites of the Feb. campus shooting that killed three and injured five. Monday marked the first day that classes have been held in the building since the shooting, which occurred nearly a year ago.

MSU commits to release findings of Tracy leak probe

Michigan State University will publicly release the findings of an outside investigation into who at the university may have leaked the identity of Brenda Tracy, the rape survivor and advocate who the university found to have been sexually harassed by fired football coach Mel Tucker.
