Facility for Rare Isotope Beams opens with ribbon cutting ceremony

FRIB, a user facility for the U.S. The Department of Energy Office of Science, will hold what will be the most powerful heavy-ion accelerator. This accelerator will propel atoms to half the speed of light and will create collisions that produce rare isotopes. Previously, these rare isotopes were only found in the cosmos, but with FRIB’s technology, they will now be able to be produced on Earth.

 “I don't speak for the caucus, but I think it's quite unfair for him to go after conservative, hardworking Republicans in the House and Senate and target them for pure selfish gain,” State Rep. Beau LaFave said of House colleague Matt Maddock, who was removed from the House GOP Caucus Tuesday night.

Red Cedar Organ dedicated to MSU after 8-year-long process 

MSU professor Jonathan Reed said he was first contacted about the organ in June 2014.  Dean of the College of Music James Forger first asked him to go over and evaluate the organ that was previously in the chapel, a 1952 organ built by a company in the Netherlands known as Pelz.
