The audio files obtained by The State News depict callers hearing gunshots from nearby rooms, students inside the terrorized classroom attempting to aid victims and students trying to navigate doors that don’t lock to keep themselves barricaded.
“I remember the sound of the first bullet shot,” Huapilla-Perez wrote “I remember calling my mom — afraid, so afraid that that would be the last time I talked to her. For her, a call she never expected but always feared receiving.”
One change listed in the report is the diversity, equity and inclusion online training being revamped for fall 2023 to be more reflective of the MSU community.
According to the website, pick-up has been temporarily suspended. Alternative locations for bachelor’s and master’s graduation gear will be at the Kellogg Center from April 5 to 7 and April 17 to 19 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. In the meantime, gear is available for shipment.

For students living on campus, MSU provides Ramadan dining hall options. For breakfast, the dining hall provides two pre-packaged breakfast options that will be available for pickup each day during dinner service at Brody Square, South Pointe at Case, The Vista at Shaw and The Edge at Akers.

While MSU police is responsible for on-campus happenings and the East Lansing Police Department is responsible for off-campus, Department of Police and Public Safety spokesperson Dana Whyte said they work together on nights that are expected to be busier.
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 25 and start at the MSU Auditorium. Those interested can register for the race through MSU Tower Guard's Linktree.
James Madison College junior Matthew O'Daniel died Wednesday, March 15 from injuries sustained in a vehicular accident Sunday, March 12.
“Clearly the data do suggest that we are going to need to be thinking about both services and prevention differently for our trans and non-binary folks at a minimum,” Campbell said. “We hope this data is helpful to all of you, it’s certainly helpful to us in guiding what our efforts need to be in terms of services, prevention and policy.”
At the event, volunteers handed out index cards for students to write down their experiences, which will later be given to the MSU Museum and saved in the MSU Archives.
