Students shop for deals during the MSU surplus store move-in sale. The MSU surplus store has extended their hours this week as part of their move-in sale, and students taking advantage of the extra hours to hunt for bargains.

Sparticipation cancelled, rescheduling possibly in the works

What was supposed to be the MSU’s historically largest Sparticipation was in full swing—students were eating their cookout dinners, obtaining “swag” from RSOs on campus, and music was blaring from the center of Cherry Lane Field. And then, less than half an hour after the much anticipated event began, it was cancelled.

Chinese students reflect on tobacco ban

Chinese international students are embracing the new tobacco-free campus.  A 2015 study published in a UK medical journal found that two-thirds of all males in China smoked and that more were picking up the habit as teenagers.

MSU study shows more Michigan drivers are buckling up

More Michigan drivers and passengers are wearing their seat belts. Michigan’s seat belt use rate has increased to 94.5 percent so far this year, the highest it’s been in five years. MSU led the federally-funded study on behalf of the state of Michigan and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Click It or Ticket campaign.
