Magic Johnson statue vandalized by U-M fans last night

Apparently other landmarks on campus aside from the Sparty statue need to be guarded during rivalry week.  The Magic Johnson statue located outside the Jack Breslin Student Events Center was vandalized last night. A yellow ‘M’ was painted on the chest, and “Beat State” written on the base of the statue. Infrastructure Planning and Facilities cleaned the paint off the statue around 10:45 a.m, according to Tweets.  Social media users have also reported the steps of the MSU Union were also vandalized with the phrase "Go Blue."  Stay with statenews.com for more updates.
