Former Penn swimmer Paula Scanlan speaks at MSU, trans students unify in response

Former University of Pennsylvania swimmer Paula Scanlan spoke to a small audience at Michigan State University on Tuesday evening, delivering a critique of transgender athletes' presence in women's sports and college campus's acceptance of transgender people. Outside the event, several transgender students and allies gathered for a "trans-awareness picnic" meant to inspire a sense of community and solidarity.

Cancelling classes, group discussions: MSU faculty grapple with how to address election results amid scrutiny

MSU faculty have the difficult task of addressing an election that has distressed some students without ostracizing those who feel differently. Some have chosen to keep their personal political beliefs to themselves. Others have been vocal about how the election has affected them, a choice that university administrators say should be exercised with caution.

Where MSU students can vote on Election Day

On Election Day, Nov. 5, four polling locations representing five precincts will be spread across MSU's campus for students to vote at. Students who have not registered to vote can still do so at the East Lansing City Clerk's office or at WKAR Studio B in the Communication Arts and Sciences building.
