The Michigan State University Board of Trustees approved plans for a new Health, Wellness and Fitness Center, including recreation turf fields, upgrades to Spartan Stadium and head football coach Mel Tucker’s 10 year, $95 million contract extension during the meeting on Friday, Dec. 17.
The Board of Trustees held its last meeting to wrap up the fall semester on Friday, Dec. 17. Members passionately discussed issues such as sexual misconduct policy and collective bargaining.
The mandate applies to all students, staff and faculty who are currently eligible for a booster shot — at least six months after their two-dose vaccine regimen or two months after a single-dose vaccine.
MSU student Phat Nguyen’s preliminary autopsy report has returned with the leading factor of death confirmed as alcohol. ELPD will not be releasing any further details and alcohol is reported as the recorded cause of death, according to Connelly.
In the interview, Stanley and Woodruff addressed mandating a booster shot for MSU students and faculty, the university's commitment to athletics, and fraternity and sorority life.
The advisory goes into effect at 7 p.m. tonight and remains in effect until 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
Testing will be available through Gate B of Spartan Stadium beginning on Dec.15 from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. It will be available to students, community members and the general public.
The Board of Trustees is scheduled to meet for the last time this semester on Friday, Dec. 17 at 8 a.m. in room 401 of the Hannah Administration Building. The public can attend the meeting in person or online through a livestream.
The special elections will replace seats previously held by Rep. Andrea Schroeder, R-Independence Township, who passed away in early October, and those held by Rep. Doug Wozniak, R-Shelby Township, and Rep. Mark Huizenga, R-Walker, who both resigned after being elected to the Michigan State Senate.
While the MSU chapter is currently closed, the fraternity can be reinstated after a minimum of 10 years, according to the email.
No MSU students, staff, or faculty were involved.
