UAB prepares for marquee drag show event

MSU’s drag personas are being dusted off to come out and strut their stuff at the 2015 Official MSU Drag Show, which will take place 9 p.m. Friday at the Crossroads Food Court in the International Center.

Mental health mural painting moved until summer

The week, which was held during the end of March and beginning of April, was meant to raise awareness and spark discussion regarding mental health. A mural was set to be painted during this time, but because of inclement weather and not having complete permission from all parties involved, it was postponed.

Breakdancing Club gears up for area-wide competition

MSU Breakdance club will compete against other Midwest breakdancing crews this Saturday as part of the Red Cedar Ransom 6 at The Loft in Lansing.

Heavier police presence felt at area bars

Some student bar-goers on campus have noticed an increase in police presence in bars downtown recently, but ELPD retains it’s nothing out of the ordinary. “Basically, two cops walked in at Rick’s and spoke to the manager for a couple minutes, and on their way out, they asked two girls for their IDs, and ended up charging them,” finance sophomore Matt Luberto said about his experience last weekend.

MSU Science Festival will return for its third year tomorrow

After visiting a science festival at the University of Cambridge, Renee Leone wanted to bring the same opportunities to explore and discuss scientific interests to MSU’s campus.  Leone, a teacher at Montessori Elementary Classrooms, drafted her own proposal for an MSU Science Festival and presented her vision directly to the faculty at various MSU colleges.
