Lansing Symphony Orchestra presents "Music of Motown" Friday

For one night only, Motown is back. This Friday evening, the Wharton Center is partnering up with the Lansing Symphony to put on "Music of Motown". Diatetics freshman Arturo Gregory is ecstatic for the event, and is happy to see Motown music make a revival this Friday. "Friday's performance feels like a great opportunity for people to come and experience what is Motown," Gregory said.

ASMSU elections yield 3.3 percent voter turnout

1,264 students voted in this year’s ASMSU, MSU’s undergraduate student government’s general assembly election, which is over 1,000 less voters than in 2013, when the State News reported a 9.2 percent voter turnout. Members of ASMSU’s general assembly hold an important task of electing the new office of the president this week, which consists of six vice presidents and 1 president.

Faculty Senate approves compensation hike

In an effort to prevent MSU falling to last place in faculty compensation rates among Big Ten schools, the Faculty Senate approved a relatively high faculty merit and market pool increases for the 2015-2016 school year on Tuesday afternoon.
