UAB, Impact 89FM to host Battle of the Bands, reviving lost MSU tradition

Michigan State's University Activities Board is partnering with college radio station Impact 89FM to host a Battle of the Bands on Wednesday, April 23. The event offers a place for student artists and performers to compete and showcase their talent while gaining publicity. The showdown is set to take place in The People’s Park, on campus between Well’s Hall and the International Center, starting at 5:30 p.m.

MSU sues Department of Energy over proposed cuts to research funding

Michigan State University, alongside three organizations and eight other universities, is suing the U.S. Department of Energy, arguing a recent policy that caps the amount of money the university is given for research grants is illegal. The Rate Cap Policy sets a standardized indirect cost rate for all grant awards to universities at 15%.
