Sex doesn't have to mean marriage, but it should mean something

By Cameron Macko cmacko@statenews.com I've quickly developed a reputation among The State News as being the one conservative and naturally I would have conservative opinions concerning sex and relationships. For this reason over my first year at MSU I've been put into an environment where I've seen sex treated as something almost meaningless, especially here where we've been voted the number on school to get laid at by fiestafrog.com.

Where to take your parents for a pre- or post-graduation dinner

When deciding where to take your family out to eat after graduation, you’ll think of HopCat , Peppino’s , and the Peanut Barrel . But if you want to escape the chaos that will be everybody and their mother (literally) trying to get a table, try these yummy restaurants outside of the downtown East Lansing area. Bravo!

MSU baseball gains many lessons from Crosstown Showdown

Despite not getting the desired result in the ninth annual Crosstown Showdown, the men's baseball team gained plenty from their exhibition game against the Lansing Lugnuts, the Toronto Blue Jays Class A minor league affiliate. The Spartans were able to get 19 different players involved in the showdown, many players who were getting some experience at a time in the year when they wouldn't be seeing much playing time. Junior infielder Justin Hovis got his first experience as a pitcher since coming to MSU.

COMMENTARY

To succeed in college, learn to fail

It’s obvious that college is a time of learning. You learn how to live on your own, how to adapt to the new coursework, and it’s a period of constantly making adjustments. As a result, it doesn't take long for students to feel stressed and discouraged.
