MSU hockey looks to stop skid against Wisconsin

MSU hockey (4-9-2) has more or less swept its past four games under the rug; at least that’s the sentiment from the locker room as it prepares to take on Wisconsin (3-6-5) for a two game series at Munn Ice Arena this weekend. It’s a matchup of two desperate teams as neither has a win in it’s last five games.

MSU PeaceJam hosts concert to discuss terrorism, injustice

Students and family members gathered in the basement of Snyder-Phillips for the first ever MSU PeaceJam Jam, an event organized by the activist group MSU PeaceJam and residential college in arts and humanities (RCAH) sophomore Charlie Burg. The event's theme focused on societal injustice and terrorism, a topic explored by the night's dozen or so performances.

For students tired of feeling quieted, believing the conversations around diversity and inclusion on campus only lead to promises that are not being addressed; to the Spartans that don’t believe they have a voice that’s heard calling for change, I hear you.

Clark Jr. shows progress for MSU basketball as he returns from foot injury

As fast of a start the undefeated and No. 1 MSU basketball team has gotten off to this season, it's been a bit of a slow one for MSU sophomore forward Marvin Clark Jr. After sitting out the first two games of the season while recovering from a foot surgery he had in September, Clark has struggled to get back to shape he was in last season. But his recent play has showed promise.

Greater Lansing Sport and Social Club offers unique sporting opportunity

Some graduate students spend a lot of their time working or gazing at a computer screen.  Community sustainability graduate student Samantha Loscalzo thinks it's good to provide a social and physical environment for graduate students to unwind at the end of a long week.  After hearing about Greater Lansing Sport and Social Club Loscalzo decided to join and play the intense game of dodgeball.

No. 1 MSU basketball wins big against Maryland Eastern Shore

The No. 1 MSU basketball team defeated the Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks Wednesday night at Breslin Center, 78-35. The Spartans are now 10-0 on the season. Senior MSU guard Bryn Forbes finished with 14 points, five assists and three rebounds while senior guard Denzel Valentine chipped in with 11 points, 10 rebounds and six assists.

When English senior Stefanie Haapala takes the stage to perform her music, she doesn't count the number of heads in the audience or think about how big the stage is -- she thinks about the storytelling aspect of performing and giving the people in the audience a voice. "It's a really emotional experience for me, being on stage, just because these are my songs and they are my stories.
