The vote, which took place during the weekly East Lansing City Council Meeting, comes over a month after members of the Study Committee on an Independent Police Oversight Commission presented a report on the proposed establishment of this commission, containing the Study Committee’s recommendations on how the commission should be established.

We all need to be safe but we all also need to be understanding of each other’s beliefs and value our differences.”
The name was changed to better represent LGBTQ+ students at the university. According to the website, some of the challenges posed by the old name were its lack of inclusivity and use of the outdated acronym.
The series will include three informal meetings at various locations in East Lansing between Johnson and members of the public. The chats will have a quick update on what East Lansing Police Department, or ELPD, is doing.
“Why must it (Black hair) conform to European standards of beauty? Why is that the marker of beauty?” Northeast delegate of National Parents Union Vivett Dukes said.
After joining MSU in Feb. 2020, Tucker and his staff were handcuffed by the pandemic. They could not hold practice with the team over the summer and could not host recruits after Tucker’s first two weeks in East Lansing because of the pandemic recruiting dead period instituted by the NCAA. This is Tucker’s first chance to leave his imprint on the program outside of just leadership.
