It's more than a game for Williams

Junior cornerback Demond Williams is the definition of a self-made individual. Growing up in the small town of Jackson, Ala., Williams' mother died when he was in middle school and his father passed away from cancer, leaving few people for Williams to turn to. "He hasn't had a lot of people to help him in life," MSU head coach John L.

Now, off to its best start under Comley, MSU is looking to end the Wildcats' dominance when they meet for two games on Friday and Saturday, both at 7:05 p.m.

Simon takes on student alcohol use

MSU President Lou Anna K. Simon addressed her concerns about "disruptive alcohol-induced behaviors" by MSU students in a letter sent out to East Lansing residents earlier this week. In the letter she said, "Unfortunately, the early excitement and the wonderful events have been tainted by growing frustration among East Lansing residents, as some of you have experienced disruptive alcohol-induced behaviors by young adults in your neighborhoods ? The behaviors demonstrate a lack of civility, a lack of respect for others, and a lack of self-respect." President Simon declined to comment on the letter on Thursday. MSU spokesman Terry Denbow said this was more to "exchange ideas and solutions than barbs and problems." "This wasn't incident- or episode-based, it was issue-based," Denbow said.
