The No. 18-ranked Spartans earned a hard-fought win over Indiana Saturday, improving their record to 6-1 on the season and garnering that important sixth win to become officially bowl eligible.
MSU’s win over the Indiana Hoosiers was never pretty. If anything, it was downright ugly.
Five days after being arrested for driving without a valid license, LJ Scott’s touchdown rush with 1:49 left in the game gave the Spartans a 17-9 lead after the made extra point. The Spartans would hold off a late-game comeback from the Hoosiers to advance to 6-1 on the season and 4-0 in conference play.
But in the crucial final quarter, with the game's balance hanging up in the air, MSU finished and came out on top 17-9 over the Indiana Hoosiers.
