Ryan Robison had been working on Santo’s disappearance for 15 days. According to a Facebook post, Robinson went to the Santo house and informed them just before midnight on Thursday.
After civilian search efforts, fliers and a large social media campaign to "Bring Brendan Home," the MSU community became deeply involved in the case. Now, after the discovery of the body, many students are devastated.
Michigan State University Police and Public Safety found a body in the Red Cedar River at 12:30 p.m. in Lansing, 1.5 miles downriver of where Brendan Santo was last seen. Identification of the body is pending, but the body is believed to be that of Santo.
"It could be possible to do a partial dam if there was a very specific area to concentrate on,” MSU spokesperson Dana Whyte said in a Jan. 19 email to the State News.
The vehicle has since been located near State and Chandler Road.
Councilperson George Brookover kept his comments on updating the city's livestock code to include goats and ducks brief. “No, thanks,” he said.
