MSU complies with federal Title IX regulations in short time frame, encourages community feedback

As for MSU's new policy, the Center for Survivors, MSU employee labor unions, MSU Human Resources, the University Committee on Faculty Affairs, Associated Students of Michigan State University, the Council of Graduate Students, the Council of Racial and Ethnic Students and many other faculty, organizations, staff and students collectively aided the process, according to the statement.

Among other closures for the fall semester were nine Sparty’s locations and the Starbucks located at Broad Art Museum and Broad College of Business. Culinary Services will reevaluate these retail locations after the fall semester and determine if adjustments need to be made, according to the update.

“We need to start normalizing standing up for each other,” communication junior Alondra Alvarez said. “I feel like the word ‘ally’ is used a lot but an ally ... is someone who stands up for each other no matter who's in the room. ... I'm not only going to stand up for you and your community when you're around. I'm going to stand up even when you're never around. And that's something that I feel like we all need to start doing.”
