MSU Board of Trustees to hold private forum Thursday

A first of its kind forum between the Michigan State University Board of Trustees and various students, faculty and alumni will be held this Thursday. The forum was birthed after a vote by the board last December to reduce the number of meetings per year from six to five, and instead explore alternative informal ways for university administration to address issues facing the public.

MSU ends use of DEI statements in hiring, tenure, citing federal compliance

Michigan State University has announced it will no longer use Diversity, Equity and Inclusion statements in job postings, hiring, evaluations, or promotion and tenure decisions. The latest update from MSU on DEI initiatives comes after The State News reported that the university removed DEI language from several of its websites pending a strategic review of MSU’s 2030 strategic plan.
