Victory over W. Ontario full of Spartan faux pas

The MSU hockey team didn’t win by as much as most people expected, but the Spartans still conquered heavy underdog Western Ontario 6-2 on Tuesday night at Munn Ice Arena. MSU misfired for most of the game, going 1-for-6 on the power play and regularly sending passes just out of the reach of their targets. But the Spartans still thoroughly outplayed the Mustangs, outshooting them 23-2 in the first period, 21-4 in the second and 12-7 in the third.

Womens tennis team topples Wolverines

MSU proved to be victorious against Michigan this weekend, as women’s tennis sophomore Dora Vastag defeated Wolverine Chrissie Nolan (6-3, 6-1) to capture the singles title Sunday at the Wolverine Fall Tennis Classic in Ann Arbor. Vastag also paired up with junior Caroline Lay to win the Victors doubles flight title, defeating Michigan’s Jennifer Duprez and Kim Plaushines 8-6.
