Just more than a week after four-star linebacker Antjuan Simmons committed to MSU, head coach Mark Dantonio acquired three more recruits from the class of 2017 this week as strong-side defensive end DeAri Todd, cornerback Tre Person and wide receiver Raheem Blackshear verbally committed to the Spartans.ch A three-star prospect from Clearview High School in Lorain, Ohio, Todd is ranked No. 2,052 in the nation and No. 98 among strong-side defensive ends, according to 247Sports composite rankings.ch Todd had made two official visits to MSU, but the Spartans had yet to offer.

The National Football Foundation (NFF) and College Hall of Fame announced Monday the 2017 College Football Hall of Fame Class. The list includes the names of ten First Team All-American players and three coaches. Among the names was former MSU wide receiver Kirk Gibson.

On April 28, 2016, offensive lineman Jack Conklin walked on a stage in front of thousands of fans and donned a Tennessee Titans hat as the former Spartan was selected eighth overall in the 2016 NFL draft.
