Rep. Rashida Tlaib calls for U.S. envoy to Sudan at MSU Union panel

Rep. Rashida Tlaib held up notes taken during the panel discussion at the behest of an audience member, where she wrote that she would consult with fellow congresswoman Sara Jacobs, D-Calif., as well as Foreign Affairs Committee Ranking Member Gregory Meeks, D-N.Y., to begin discussions over restoring a U.S. envoy to Sudan.

At Friday's Board of Trustees meeting, the discord those orders — and MSU’s subsequent responses — have kindled among the university community was evident.

Board OKs 5% increase to housing and dining rates

A 5% increase in housing and dining rates for the 2026-27 academic year was unanimously approved by the Michigan State University Board of Trustees at its Friday meeting. The hike in housing and dining rates for the basic residence hall double housing and silver meal plan lands on $13,574 for the upcoming academic year.

MSU board seeks increased participation in stakeholder forum

Michigan State University’s Board of Trustees is looking to expand public participation in its second annual invite-only “Stakeholder Engagement Forum” in the Fall of this year. The board called upon students, staff and faculty in a campus-wide email sent Wednesday to suggest potential talking points and nominate participants via a survey.
