MSU women’s basketball has had some remarkable players in its program history. The likes of Kristin Haynie, Jasmine Hines, Liz Shimek, Syreeta Bromfield and, most recently, Aerial Powers dominated the court. For her senior season, Tori Jankoska has been completely in the spotlight, leading the Spartans on the court and breaking records while preparing to leave a legacy behind. From fighting for her life at birth to fighting on the court as a Spartan, Jankoska has had a rollercoaster ride worth of experiences, but right now it seems she’s at the top and not coming down any time soon.
In the last home game of the season, MSU women’s basketball faced Penn State University at the Breslin Center. Coming off of an important win against rival University of Michigan, the Spartans looked different starting the game. MSU struggled early on, as Penn State had the lead from the beginning of the game. But the Spartans came back from being down 19 at one point for a win on Senior Day, 73-64.

After leading the MSU women's basketball team to a 86-68 win over the University of Michigan Sunday, senior guard Tori Jankoska was named the Big Ten Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
Coming off a 85-69 win against Minnesota, the MSU women’s basketball team hoped to win its second straight game Sunday as the Spartans took on the No. 20 Michigan Wolverines on the road. There, the Spartans took care of business as they upset the Wolverines at the Crisler Center, 86-68.
In the second to last regular season game at the Breslin Center, MSU women’s basketball came out strong to defeat the University of Minnesota. In their second matchup against the Gophers this season, the end result was similar to the 93-74 win on Jan. 30. After some trouble in the first half, MSU regained its confidence and momentum and used it in the remaining of the second half. In head coach Suzy Merchant’s second game back, the Spartans (17-9, 7-6 Big Ten) put together a win, 85-69.
With only five games left in the regular season for MSU women’s basketball, the Spartans took the court to face nationally ranked No. 3 University of Maryland. The last time the Spartans met Maryland, it was in the finals of the Big Ten Tournament, a game they would go on to lose. The Spartans would go on to fall to the Terrapins in the rematch, 89-72.
The accolades keep on adding for senior guard Tori Jankoska, as Jankoska was one of 10 players added to the Wade Watch List on Monday afternoon by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association, or WBCA, according to a press release. The Freeland, Mich. native is one of seven Big Ten players on the Wade Watch List.

On a symbolic day honoring National Girls and Women in Sports Day, MSU women's basketball (16-7, 6-4 Big Ten) welcomed the 6,438 fans with a sight all too familiar — senior guard Tori Jankoska hoisting a 3-point field goal.
MSU women’s basketball, 15-7, 5-4 Big Ten, played University of Minnesota, 11-11, 2-7 Big Ten, on the road. The Spartans started off strong in the first quarter, but at the end of the first half Minnesota tied things up. Under interim head coach Amaka Agugua the Spartans clinched their second straight win in a row. MSU pulled away in the second half to beat the Golden Gophers, 93-74.
MSU women’s basketball ended its three game losing streak with the win against the University of Wisconsin, 81-57. The Spartans improve their overall record to 14-7 and are now 4-4 in the Big Ten. Senior guard Branndais Agee led the Spartans in scoring with 18 points, with senior guard Tori Jankoska right behind her with 13 points.
MSU women’s basketball recently announced through a press release that the team will join the men’s program to play in the PK80 Invitational. Along with the Spartans, Oregon women’s basketball will be hosting the University of Connecticut and the University of Oklahoma at the Matthew Knight Arena on Nov. 25 next season.

After two McDonald's All-Americans last year in guard Joshua Langford and forward Miles Bridges, the MSU men's basketball team will welcome another in the form of signee Jaren Jackson Jr. Over on the women's basketball side, signee Sidney Cooks was also named a McDonald's All-American.
Both of the two recruits signed to play for head coach Tom Izzo and the MSU men's basketball team next season were named nominees to the 40th McDonald's All-American games. The duo, Jaren Jackson Jr. and Xavier Tillman, are among 272 national athletes to be nominated.
On Tuesday night, senior guard Tori Jankoska broke two records for the MSU women’s basketball team. The first came early in the game with Jankoska just seven points away from becoming the all-time leading scorer.
