MSU signees Jackson Jr., Cooks named McDonald's All-Americans

After two McDonald's All-Americans last year in guard Joshua Langford and forward Miles Bridges, the MSU men's basketball team will welcome another in the form of signee Jaren Jackson Jr. Over on the women's basketball side, signee Sidney Cooks was also named a McDonald's All-American.

Jackson Jr. is a 6-foot-10 power forward, currently playing for La Lumiere in LaPorte, Ind. According to ESPN, Jackson Jr. is the second-best prospect in the state of Indiana. Jackson Jr. is on Team West of the game.

Cooks hails from the Midwest as she is concluding her final year at Saint Joseph Catholic in Kenosha, Wis. and is ranked the fifth overall player in the nation, according to ESPN. Cooks like Jackson Jr. will be playing on Team West for the 2017 edition of the McDonald's All-American game.

Between the boys and girls side, three Spartan signees were named nominees for the game.

The 2017 McDonald's All-American games are both scheduled on March 29 for the boys and girls side. It will be the 40th edition of the boys game and 16th for the girl. Both games will be played at the United Center in Chicago, Ill.
