Michigan State women’s basketball suffered its first home loss and perhaps their toughest loss of the season against Notre Dame on Thursday. The back and forth battle for the lead indicated the Spartans could have pulled off a win against the Fighting Irish, so the question that remains is “What went wrong?”

Freshman guard DeeDee Hagemann has seemingly solidified her position as the sixth-woman on the Michigan State women’s basketball team. In just her first college season she’s averaging 7.5 points, 5.0 assists and 2.3 rebounds per game and is almost always the first player off the bench, providing the Spartans with a burst of energy every time she steps foot on the court.

The Michigan State women's basketball team (6-2) has been getting a taste of their own medicine as of late. They caught the worst of it today against Marshall (3-2), but overcame adversity and remain undefeated at home with yet another 85-75 victory.

Ever since the three goal comeback against Ferris State a few weeks ago, the offense seems to be firing on all cylinders for Michigan State hockey. The Spartans followed up the sweep of FSU with two wins against the Wisconsin Badgers, netting eight goals in total against one of the best goaltenders in the Big Ten, Jared Moe.

Michigan State football dropped five spots in Week 13 of the AP Poll after a brutal 56-7 loss to No. 2 Ohio State yesterday. They now stand 9-2 overall and have one more game to play before postseason standings and action is decided – they will face the Penn State Nittany Lions at noon on Nov. 27 at Spartan Stadium.

Michigan State women’s basketball looks to continue their 4-0 start when they embark on their first road trip of the season to the Empire State. The Spartans will take on the Fordham Rams Sunday in the Bronx before traveling to Brooklyn Heights to play the St. Francis College Terriers on Tuesday to close out their New York expedition. Both games will be played at 2 p.m.

The Spartans took care of business last Saturday, defeating Maryland 40-21 at Spartan Stadium. All of the teams previously ranked ahead of MSU won, resulting in minimal shuffling at the top of the College Football Playoff Rankings including Michigan State, remaining at the No. 7 slot.
