Education fourth-year Riley Szara stands in front of her freshman year dormitory in Wonders Hall on Friday, April 19, 2024. Szara was “devastated” that the swim program was terminated, especially after watching her older sister Erin Szara graduating from the program the year prior. Erin holds the 100 yard and 200 yard break stroke records, and Riley specialized in the same events. After the program was cut, Szara joined Pi Beta Phi and leaned into friendships outside of the team. In her education major, she is specializing in Grades 3-6 and will complete her five year program in 2025.
