Marketing senior Rachel Aycock stands underneath the swim program’s record board in the IM West Fitness Center’s pool on Thursday April 4, 2024. Aycock’s older sister, Courtney Aycock graduated from the program in 2019, leaving her mark with the team’s record in the 200 yard freestyle relay. While she wasn’t able to leave with a legacy that remained on the record board, she believes that her legacy as someone who fought for the program to be brought back will be lasting. The program being cut, 'kind of gave me a new outlook on life,” Aycock said. “It's just like things can be taken away from you, so just really appreciate what you get, and like the time that you do have. And really just enjoy the little moments.”
