gallery Students remember Patrick Lyoya at BSA-led vigil On Tuesday, April 19, students, staff, community members and various CORES and COPS groups joined the Black Students Alliance in remembering Patrick Lyoya at the Rock on Farm Lane. Patrick Lyoya was killed by a Grand Rapids police officer during a traffic stop on Monday, April 4. Lyoya was a Congolese refugee whose family lives in Lansing. Since his death, there have been a number of protests and demonstrations in his honor, including a Black Lives Matter Michigan-led march on Thursday, April 21.
