McLaren Greater Lansing began the transfer of patients from their Greenlawn campus to the new Healthcare Campus on Mar. 6, 2022, as it continues to open its' doors to new and returning patients.

The Karmanos Cancer Institute at the new campus began to treat patients on Mar. 4, 2022. Included in this weekend's openings were the acute care hospital, which is home to the operating rooms, cath labs and imaging services, the level 3 trauma center, primary stroke center and emergency department.

The opening of the emergency department at 6 a.m. marked the end of emergency services offered at McLaren's Greenlawn campus.

"This has been a long time coming. This has been years and years of planning," Chief Medical Officer Linda Peterson said, "So now that we're here we are so excited to see the state of the art, the size of our rooms, new technology, and staff is just as excited as our physicians. So it's really a new era, a new beginning."
