Maddie Hanes elected as ASMSU president
Maddie Hanes is elected as the ASMSU (Associated Students of Michigan State University) president at the Student Services building in East Lansing, MI, on April 14, 2026. Hanes went up against candidate Deonte Sparks, current ASMSU vice president for governmental affairs. Following Hanes' win, Anna Burk was re-elected as the ASMSU vice president for finance and operations. ASMSU plans to continue its elections for the office of the president through Thursday, April 16, 2026.
