Back-to-back: MSU hockey makes history in double-overtime thriller
Michigan State men's ice hockey overcame Ohio State 4-3 in a double-overtime victory at Munn Ice Arena on March 22, 2025, in what was the longest ice hockey game in Big Ten history. In an all-around historic night, the Spartans became the first team in Big Ten history to win both the regular season and tournament championships in back-to-back seasons. Junior forward Isaac Howard (22) led the way with a four-point night, including the game-winning-goal in double-overtime, clinching ownership of the tournament trophy for the Spartans.
