Responses to the effectiveness of the withdrawal method

A study published in the June issue of Contraception magazine found the pull–out method, also known as the withdrawal method, is almost as effective as condoms when it comes to birth control. According to the study, over the course of a year condoms have a 2 percent failure rate when used perfectly, and the withdrawal method has a 4 percent failure rate when used perfectly. MSU visiting students Carlos Revilla and Isiah Nelson, Webberville resident Nikki Brockmiller, zoology senior Grace O’Connor, MSU alumna Michelle Chalker and Lansing resident Sawsen Lado respond to these findings.
