MSU gymnastics juniors Nicole Argiros and Kathryn Mahoney returned from injuries last weekend and helped the Spartans to a successful pair of meets in California.

The Spartans defeated Cal State Fullerton, 194.850 to 191.250, then placed second at a tri-meet at No. 3 UCLA, recording a season-high score of 195.950.

Argiros returned from a knee injury that kept her out for nearly a month, while Mahoney hadn’t competed this season because of a toe injury she suffered before the season’s start.

The two gymnasts talked about the Spartans’ effort last weekend, what they’re hoping to accomplish this weekend in the regular season finale against Pittsburgh, as well as returning from injuries.
