Fourth-year Michigan State studio art student Evan Yalowitz explains her piece Obstruction on the Rise on April 13, 2025. She said, “This piece was born out of mistakes and mess-ups, and this is the piece that truly allowed me to not be such a perfectionist.” She adds, “I had a very particular vision in mind of my hand being casted a certain way. However, each time I casted my hand, it didn’t turn out exactly how I wanted it to. So — three hands later — I just melted them all together.”
