Bailey Hall and Armstrong Hall experienced multiple thefts, with four scooters being stolen from Bailey and three from Armstrong. 

MSU DPPS will “follow up on all available leads related to these incidents," Vizeuta said. 

For electric scooter owners concerned about their property, MSU DPPS urges them to “take steps that reduce theft risk,” such as using a high-quality lock to secure scooters to on-campus bike racks, especially in well-lit and high-traffic locations. DPPS also suggests owners register their scooter’s serial number through MSU’s parking services to assist in recovery efforts in case of theft. 

To register a scooter, students should enter the scooter's make, color and serial number into MSU's Bike Index Portal. It must be explicitly noted that registration is for an electric scooter, not a bike. Students will then receive a sticker to fix to their electric scooter proving that it's registered.

Another timely warning was sent out on Friday afternoon, but it is unclear at this time how many thefts occurred between the time frame Sept. 16 and 17 addressed in the alert.
