Pemberton spent last weekend in East Lansing for MSU's Grind Week, an annual reunion program where Izzo brings back as many former Spartans as possible to practice with the current team. Current and former NBA players, including Draymond Green, Zach Randolph, Miles Bridges, Max Christie and Jase Richardson, were among those on hand.

The Methuen, Massachusetts, native is the first recruit in the class to commit to Izzo and follows a string of highly ranked guards to commit to MSU in recent years. Among them are freshman Carlos Medlock Jr., a former four-star recruit, and junior Jeremy Fears Jr., a former four-star recruit and McDonald's All-American.

During the summer, Pemberton played on the Adidas 3 Stripes Select Basketball AAU circuit, averaging 24 points and 4.3 assists per game. He helped lead his team, the Mass Rivals, to the finals of the circuit's summer championships.

With his floor general for 2027 secured, Izzo will now wait to see which target commits next. Center Jaydn Jenkins of Archbishop Wood High School also attended Grind Week alongside Pemberton.
