MSU Health Care is currently in the process of contacting all patients treated by Saxena during his employment, Yankowski said. 

Officers and a social worker first responded to a sexual assault complaint at MSU Health Care facility in the 4600 block of S. Hagadorn Road on April 3, 2025. During the Special Victims Unit’s investigation, which was filed directly after the assault, MSU Police were able to identify a second victim. 

“As soon as the university was made aware, he was promptly removed from seeing any further patients, so they could gather some additional information, and they took the action to terminate or dismiss him from his employment here,” Yankowski said. 

Saxena faces three counts of criminal sexual conduct in the third degree and one count of criminal sexual conduct in the fourth degree. He was hired by MSU in July 2024 and relieved of his ability to see patients on April 7, 2025, four days after the first complaint. 

Yankowski said there is a minimum two-week timeframe for extradition. MSU Police are working with law enforcement in Georgia, as well as the Ingham County Prosecutor. 

MSU issued a statement on the charges, saying, "Patients deserve to be treated with dignity, respect and professionalism, and we regret that this trust was broken. We are deeply sorry for the harm this has caused and apologize to those affected by this abuse. We understand the impact these acts have on members of our community, and we extend our empathy and care." 

"We take any report of sexual abuse or misconduct extremely seriously and understand our responsibility to ensure the safety of those who seek care at our facilities," the statement read.
